Everyone wants to save money. Including insurance companies. Too frequently though, many patients are denied the prosthetic and orthotic care they desperately need.

The Mobility Saves Initiative, pioneered by the Amputee Coalition of America and the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association , supports research between 2007 and 2010 revealing that Medicare actually pays more over the long term for patients who do not receive prosthetic and orthotic intervention.  The Mobility Saves initiative proves that P&O Care practitioners truly are architects of abilities.

Medicare costs were lower or similar for patients who received orthotic or prosthetic devices, compared to patients who needed, but did not receive, these devices. This study reinforces that prosthetic and orthotic treatment is a cost effective means to restore mobility.  Download the official paper here.
