Dylan Borrenpohl first became interested in prosthetics and orthotics while taking an elective course at the University of Illinois. He was paired with a local nonprofit organization and working on affordable designs for upper limb prosthetic sockets. With this group, Dylan traveled to Central America and delivered quality low-cost prosthetic care and realized he wanted to pursue a career in the orthotic and prosthetic field. Dylan received a bachelors degree in Bioengineering with a concentration in Biomechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013. He was a member of the inaugural class to receive a Masters of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2015. Dylan has a keen interest in developing technologies in O&P, particularly in upper limb and above knee amputations. He is also passionate about professional advocacy for orthotics and prosthetics as well as international aid and outreach. Dylan believes delivering quality care to patients should always the first priority and continually strives to improve solutions and outcomes for his patients to reach their full potential. In his spare time, Dylan enjoys reading, hiking, running, and spending time with his family.
